Announcing AuraiMag.com by Simon Lee ‘23 and Amy Weng ‘23

Dear Whittle Community,

We’d like to introduce auraimag.com, the online edition of our student-run Aurai Magazine. This is a long-worked collaboration between students of all grades in our DC and Shenzhen campuses.

On this website, you can find anything from short stories and op-eds, to videos and photography from Whittle students willing to share their creative voice. You will also be able to find several podcasts, including:

  • The Buddies Without Borders Podcast, hosted by the Whittle School and Studios chapter of the Buddies Without Borders club: “This podcast aims to help students all across the world develop a greater global perspective and learn about different parts of the world through the shared experiences of others their age. The BWB Podcast brings together 14 students from 7 different countries to discuss prevalent issues in our world today.”

  • Breakthrough Breakdown, hosted by JiaJia Fu ‘22: “We sift through the newest, headline-making scientific discoveries to bring you the breakthroughs that matter. The Breakthrough Breakdown Podcast is your one stop shop for bite-size science news.”

  • Let’s Talk! With Your Favorite Older Sisters, hosted by Calla O’Neil and Charlotte Weir: “Welcome to Let’s Talk! Grab a snack, get comfortable, and join us for an open and candid conversation about the aspects of teenage life that impact us all. In each episode, we will be discussing a new topic and answering questions that we received from our audience. We can’t promise that we have all of the answers, but we can speak from our own personal experiences to try and help you with yours. We hope you enjoy!”

  • The Clocking In Podcast, hosted by Asher Rizer ‘22: “This podcast was started, because as a 16 year old I have no clue what I want to do for my career. So I had this great idea to create a podcast where young kids like me can go to listen to different people and their careers.”.

We invite you to drop in and engage in our students’ hard work. If you are a student and interested in submitting your work to auraimag.com, you can find submission information here.

Finally, please do not forget to follow us on Instagram @auraimag to get the latest updates, interact with our podcast hosts, and give general feedback on our publication. Thank you, and we hope you all stay safe!

Best,
Simon Lee ‘23, Editor-in-Chief
