StudioCare Fees & Policies
program information
The StudioCare program is made to be flexible and meet the needs of all our Whittle School & Studios families. The StudioCare program is a time for students to spend additional time on campus with well-known teachers, friends, and peers making meaningful connections and develop lasting friendships. Our programs include:
Guided activities in accordance with student interests
Free time to play alone, with others, and in small multi-age groups
Plenty of time outside
Teachers who work with our students year-round and during the day
Drop in options
Morning Care: Open to ELC and LS students from 8:00am-8:45am. This program is free for all Whittle School & Studios families.
Aftercare: Open to ELC, LS, and MS students from dismissal-5:30pm. There is an additional fee for a late-stay option from 5:30pm-6:00pm.
Our 2021-22 StudioCare program begins on September 13, 2021.
StudioCare Monthly and Annual Rates
Late Stay Rate: $50/month
Drop In Rate: $40/day
Late pick up (after 5:30pm or 6pm, respectively) will be charged $5 for every 5-minute increment.
Students may drop in any day of the week for $40/day. Parents must send an email to DCStudios@whittleschool.org to request a drop in.
Billing for StudioCare occurs the first of every month for each month. For an example: StudioCare for the month of October will be billed on October 1st.
Please note that there will be no tuition assistance for the 2021-22 school year
Program Registration
The StudioCare program will have open enrollment between August 20, 2021, through September 3, 2021. An email will be sent to current Whittle School & Studios families to complete an enrollment form before the beginning of the school year.
Once a student is enrolled in StudioCare, you will be auto billed for the next month on the 1st of the month. New enrollment or changes to a registration after the open enrollment period will need to be done at least 13 days prior to the beginning of each month. No changes can be made after billing occurs on the 1st of each month. To add or change a registration, please email DCStudios@whittleschool.org.
Program Policies and Procedures
Morning Care
Students in ELC and LS divisions may utilize or morning care program free of charge. Students will not be allowed in the building earlier than 8:00am and will begin to transition to their classrooms at 8:45am.
During morning care, students will have a chance to prepare their mind and body for the day by participating in quiet time activities such as reading, building, drawing, and resting.
After Care
Students in ELC, LS, and MS divisions must be enrolled in either StudioCare or Studios courses to remain on campus after academic hours. ELC students will be walked over to their StudioCare spaces and LS and MS students will be allowed to walk over to their StudioCare spaces.
All students will be provided with a snack upon arrival as well as time to decompress. All ELC and LS students will then head outside for play/games. Middle school students will have time to complete homework before switching over to free choice activities. StudioCare is a device-free zone. All devices may only be used for homework purposes and need to be put away once work in completed. All students will head back inside at 5:15pm for pick up.
Pick-Up and Sign-Out
Students may only be picked up by authorized personnel that are listed in the school directory. Security will inform staff of your arrival and students will be brought to the front of the school.
Behavioral Expectations
Students are expected to act in a manner appropriate for a school environment. Persistent behavioral issues will be addressed with parents and the school and could result in dismissal from StudioCare. In such cases, refunds are not provided.
Absences
If your child is absent or needs to get picked up early, please inform Whittle attendance as well at DCStudios@whittleschool.org. There is no refund for any unused days that occur.
